At Least I Tried

They were barely out of the oven when the Princess said, "Mom, I thought you're making cupcakes". Oh well, I thought so too. It turned out to be different, at least how it should look. It turned out flat. I am not losing hope with my baking skills. I want to be good at this. Practice makes perfect and using the proper tools, the right temperature setting and not just estimations. It will be a celebration on my part when I get to finally bake a presentable cake.

  1. Hi Lynn. They still look yummy even thought they didn't rise well to look like the typical cupcakes. I agree, practice makes perfect. I'm sure you'll do well on your next try.

  24. hi. i already changed the link in the tag.

your cake mixture was fine. you just poured too much batter in the mold that's why when the batter rose in the course of baking, the mixture had nowehere to go...overflowed to the max!

do it again. this time leave about 1/8 of the mold for expansion.

    sorry. unsolicited advice! =)

  27. I'm sure it was still good. You could also slather on some chocolate frosting to give it the illusion of rising. :) I'll look through my blog archives for a choco glaze recipe that would go well with this.

  28. They look good to me.

At one time, I accidentally mixed up the measurement for flour and sugar and guess what. The cake rose while in the oven. After I took them out, I watched them sunk with a deep depressions in the center.
